Nothing special-it truly is an economical, profit driven choice I guess, but wow does no one have taste buds? Does everyone really just want to eat to feel full? My suggestion: Just stick with al pastor tacos or maybe try the volcán-note: each order comes with 2 volcanes (they are basically meat and cheese grilled over a tostada)!! Overall a good place to stop if you’re in the neighborhood and craving al pastor-but I would not go out of my way to try this place. But it was just sorry looking, soft, white bread. This place could truly be serving CDMX’s best torta al pastor if only they used good bread-something with a good crust, a torta loaf sliced in half, and extra points if they grill/toast it all. They have such great al pastor, it’s a shame that they don’t pair it up with other equally-great food products. The torta bread was a pillowy, industrial Bimbo-like-produced nightmare. 😒 The tortas are also a let down because if they were proud of their al pastor, they would not slap it between mediocre bread. It ain’t sliced ‘til it’s got some charred bits (that adds flavor!) - but the Campechanos-hard pass, they were pretty gross, unless you like paying 80 pesos for gummy, chewy, fatty bits mixed, so that when you bite into it you end up wishing you had gone to a vegan restaurant as you originally intended, but nooo you had to come here. This place does actually make pretty good tacos al pastor. Thank you to all the staff for being so accommodating 🙏. To our surprise, we even got to see the kitchen. We are in the restaurant service industry and asked for a tour of the restaurant.

The restaurant had a very comfortable chill vibe. We got into great conversation and forgot to take pictures of the main courses. The server had a great sense of humor and attention to detail. We were received by a charming host who introduced our server who immediately suggested great beverages based on each personality. We traveled here with friends and set the plans for our lunch here. It was definitely a great recommendation. We found this location based on a recommendation from Open Table which gives you suggestions based on previous visits. Our reservation was set weeks before our visit to Mexico City and it was nice to walk to the restaurant to be greeted as if they we’re waiting for us. The chef is an artist and his creation a masterpiece. In short, if you had a doubt - this place is well worth the price, which is more than acceptable compared to other Michelin-starred tasting menus. Our server Paula was helpful, well-versed on the food and its background, and took a genuine interest in us as well! The atmosphere in the restaurant itself was mostly serene, though the amount of staff waiting around the tables sometimes made the space feel crowded. We went for the tasting menu rather than the omakase/taco menu as we felt it would offer a greater diversity of dishes and ingredients, and we were happy with our choice with the selection in Mexico City, you’ll hardly be left wanting for tacos! I was most pleasantly surprised by the desserts - each better than the next, including a special birthday cake I received on the house 🎂 Service was also stellar, though I was disappointed to hear that the restaurant allegedly mistreats its staff hope that’s not true, as would hate to contribute to the already cutthroat culture of the fine dining scene.

And the drinks menu is extensive and made accessible with the sommelier. Portion size is accurate and you will not leave hungry. The food is innovative, creative, and most importantly delicious. Everything they say about this place is true.
